Fire tests and approvals
In recent years, the Fire Authority has been working to raise the safety threshold in public and private buildings in order to protect public life in the event of an emergency. Because the smoke release systems do not operate routinely they are often neglected and not properly maintained and therefore the danger that in real time the systems will not work properly is great and dangerous and therefore regular maintenance must be performed on the various systems.
If there are any defects, they must be removed as quickly as possible so that the smoke release system returns to normal and reliable operation.
In accordance with the requirements of the Israeli Standard 1001 of the Standards Institute, it is mandatory to perform a health inspection of all smoke release systems. A smoke release system saves lives during a fire and hence the importance that the system be in order.
The National Fire and Rescue Authority requires that an engineer perform a health check of the system once a year.
Periodic inspections of smoke release systems by a qualified engineer
As part of business licensing and fire safety arrangements, it is required to perform annual inspections of the various assemblies installed in the building and to obtain a certificate of their integrity from the authorized body.
